What is an event spine?

Updated May 1, 2026

The event spine is the single model that records what happened to a unit and when. Rather than separate systems for batch tracking, serial chain-of-custody, and asset management, every kind of thing you move shares the same event structure.

Why one model matters

When a recall, audit, or warranty trace runs, it queries one consistent record. Impacted units are isolated in minutes because there is no reconciliation across parallel systems.

Event interchange

Events follow GS1 EPCIS 2.0 conventions, so data interchanges cleanly with partners and regulators that expect a standard format.
